A scary tales of 14th July End

So there it was, 6 of us VS the legendary creepy lady-on-white+hanging-on-tree ghost near the creepy pond. The ponds located about a miles from our village and only partially of the path has street lamp. To make the journey even more thrilling, all of us was on foot walking, nobody would going on wheel. So, if it happen to have ghost chasing after us, it going to be a long-mile-run!
It was nearly midnight and we are all on foot walking towards the casava farms with a handful of torch lights on our hands. The moon was full so it was not entirely dark. We pass through a junkyard, junks and wreckage of old vehicles seems lying dead by the road. There is no single vehicle past through the road at night, it was so quiet, so dark, so scary but we tried to bring up ourself by talking craps. It was no long until we arrive to the last street lamp post. Right in front of us is the path into the casava farm. The road was muddy result from rain in the evening. The casava plants has already grown far above our height and nothing could be seen exept darkness.

As I put my very first step into the farm....

Ah C: Wei! you sure you want to go inside the farm ar? It's so dark inside there.
Me: Dun be so chicken la. There's so many of us, why so afraid. Sumore you got torch light on your hand and I got nothing to hold.

It was about 500 meters distance along the dark casava farm before we reach the pond. Everybody was slowing down. It was like a troop of commandos sneaking into the enemy base. The casava plants has grown almost 3 meters height and it's leaves on the top blocked all the light from the full shinning moon leaving a very dark forest view on both side of the path. As the cold wind blow from behind, it creates all sort of creepy noises which we never heard before.

I was carefully walking through the wet muddy path when suddenly I felt something very cold and wet grabs on my left hand. It pulls me to the back and I was about to scream before I realise it was Ah Pet who grabs on my hand.

Me: Niasing, why pull my hand!
Ah Pet: I was slip just now, so I grab on you la. The road is so slippery ma.
Me: Wei, why your hand so cold and wet? You so freak up liao ar?
Ah Pet: Din you feel it was so cold here. This place is so scary man.

I didn't pay much attention to Ah Pet anymore, I guess he was a pretty much afraid. Honestly, I was a little freak up too, but there is no turning back. It was my suggestion anyway and the pond was only 50 meters ahead of us.
We walked even slower now. The huge tree beside the pond could already be visible though the are casava plants all over.

Our foot step were freezed. Nobody is moving. I heard so noise from the dark forest of the casava farm. I didn't feel any wind was blowing but the noise seems to be more and more obvious. 'Is that something we not expected to see?', I thought to myself.
I saw the leaves brushing all over at the top of the casava plants and suddenly...

GUAAAII ARRGH! (ghost) somebody screamed out loud!

Without wasting a mili second, everyone turn their back and run like crazy just like being chased by a bunch of mad dogs. Someone slip their step in the muddy road and fell down but manage to got up quickly and keep on running. I could heard someone screaming for MAMA and some calling their PAPA for help.
The casava farm path seems never came to the end. Everyone is running, running and keep running but the surrounding is nothing else than those casava plants.
"Dung! Would I ever get out of this freaking farm!", I asked myself.

All of us is running so fast like competing in the 100 meters sprint in olympics.
All of a sudden, I saw lights. It was the street lamp post right before we enter the farm. Just at that moment, I felt like I found the doorway to heaven. I speed up my steps running towards the lamp post.

Finally, I was there, under the bright lamp post. I'm breathless, speechless and I could felt every beat of my heart. All the six of us stood close to each other looking towards the casava farm.

Me: Who the hell yelling GHOST just now?
AhLong: Ah Pet did it!
Me: Pet, you really got see ghost ar?
Ah Pet: Errr... nolah. Just want to scare the hell you guys nia. Din expect guys could run so fast like mad. Hahaha!
Me: You such a moron. But hey, its a good one, hahaha!
Ah B: So, there is no ghost inside there but there is one here.
Me: Where got?
Ah B: There, Ah C has become a mud ghost hahaha.

I seems that the person who fell down just now was Ah C, he got mud all over his body. While he got a little upset as Ah B tease him up, he point his finger on Ah B foot.

Ah C: Woahahah! Looks like somebody has become chicken foot tonight.
Ah B: Shit! Where the hell is one of my sliper!
Ah Long: Woah, you run until your sliper gone also duno ar! So terrer la you.
Ah B: Hey, help me go and find my sliper la.
Ah C: Die also I won't go inside there again la. Go yourself la hahaha.

So, there isn't really any ghost after all, but we did discover a Mud ghost a.k.a Ah C and a chicken foot a.k.a Ah B. Along the way back home, some was laughing it out loud while some cursed Ah Pet for the stupid joke. All the six of us who tried to be hero at first end up running like chicken at last.
