Buying stuff online

I never really bought things online before. Just until recently I make my first attempt to buy something from the infamous online auction site, Ebay but things turn up to be a lil bit hassle.

Since I was about to go for a holiday trip to China end of this month, I was looking for a memory card for my digital camera so that I could take more photo along the trip.
So, there I was, searching here and there and finally I made a purchase on a 2Gb SD memory card which cost RM69.00 plus RM8.00 for the shipment to my doorstep. The next thing to do is just to make a notification to the seller about the purchase before I bank in the amount into his account.

Ya know, I still feel awkward that I have to made the full payment and wait for the item to be delivered to me by someone which I-duno-who? Who know if the postman keep the item back in his home's Jamban.

Well, the seller happens to be a Power Seller at Ebay. Its a recognition he gained over the time he traded at Ebay. Once the payment is confirmed, the seller will ship out the item on the upcoming shipping date. He made shipment on every Tuesday and Friday and the shipment would take one or two working day to arrive.

My item was ship out on Friday and it actually arrived on Saturday, unfortunately I was only left with the undelivered note from the postman. So I have to claim the item at the post office on the next Monday.

I was pretty happy on Monday as I got the item at the post office, immediately I put it into my camera to test it out but it turned up to be NOT working!
That was freaking nightmare man. I just bought myself a brand new faulty item. I couldn't even get the card working on my PC. So, I send an SMS to the seller about what I have encountered and the seller said he is willing to send my faulty unit for warranty claim and pay for the ship back fee.
My next concern was how long would it takes in order for me to get the replacement unit. The seller said that since he do not have that particular item on stock, it would take like 3 weeks to get the warranty claim back.

I voice out my concern that I need the memory card for my upcoming trip to China in two weeks time.
Somehow, the seller agree to order another unit and ship it to me while awaiting for the warranty unit.
Though I wasn't really pleasant with what has happened, but I do feel a bit relief that the seller is willing to expedite my faulty unit in the shortest mean.

Finally, my memory card arrived on the next Tuesday. Man, am I glad that the memory card is good this time. It took me 2 freaking weeks just to get this memory card.
But like what Mr Mohan said, "I've got the time."
But if I still getting a screw up item, then I have to say, "I've got to Die lor!"

Somehow I find the seller is pretty responsible and willing to work things out. He didn't ask much nor trying to push away the responsibility of the faulty item but offer the solution over the problem, something that I really appreciate.

Last time when I bought myself a faulty pen drive and get back to the shop for claim, the taukeh switch his face to Justice Pao mode and start blaming this and that already. Asking if I plug it correctly or not, niasing like I just came out from the jungle like that.
