Ding Hao Food Court

This is where I used to hang out every saturday night with my good friends but as time goes by things change.

During my secondary school time, this is the hotspot which I will hang out every saturday night. Yep, every Saturday night, I would be going Yam Cha with my friends at this place when is then know as Shatin Court. It was so crowded back then.

Time has past, eventually the good ole Shatin Court losses it glow and somehow it was closed down. I have seen a few time this place changed owner attempting to revive but to no avail, it is still not working.

Food court today is no longer a place for young people to hang out till midnight or until 2 or 3 am in the morning. It is simply a place to enjoy some local hawker delicacies.
There has been too many food court operating in Ipoh and every each of them is trying so hard just to sustain their existence. So, there is only one way to do that, good food.

Ding Hao Food Court entrance
The good ole Shatin Court has changed hand to Ding Hao Food Court recenty. I paid a visit to this place where I used to hang out every Saturday night but thing has changed so much.

food court environment
Long stretch of awning has been built along the food court. Nothing to worry about even if it is raining. There is also many ceiling fan build along the awning. Astro with giant size projector is also there so, what else you would want sumore.

Ultimately, of course it was the food which matter.
ding hao fish porridge
I gave a try on this fish porridge. Priced at RM4 with a few pieces tiny little fish flesh, I consider it as cuthroat. Not to mention that the porridge taste salty, really makes me worry if they over dose it with MSG.

chicken rice pot
A clay pot chicken rice. It's edible but I can't grade it as a good one. The fragrant wasn't there for some reason, not sure if it was the wine was missing or the sauce isn't good enough.

delicious sotong kangkong
Sotong Kangkong. Finally, I found something that I felt (quite) delicious. The peanut fragrant was so appetizing and the sauce was pretty nice.

The food court has been operating for a couple of week yet there are still ample of empty stall lot which is still unoccupied. I believe the management should take more initiaitve to attract more hawkers to operate there.

I believe that the owner of this food court was also the same owner of the Ting Hao Restaurant which is located at the ground floor of Tesco Ipoh since I saw there is a banner mentioning that they will be opening their branch there at the food court.
I have been to Ting Hao Restaurant before and the food there was quite nice too. Hopefully it could be the main attraction at this long-deserted food court.

Yah! During my time, gathering with friend is always "Yam Cha" in food court but sometime even in mamak store, back then you don;t see a lot of nasi kandar stall, just plain mamak store with the most Roti Canai...may be time just fly!!!

the Bat Ye Tin food court in KL has plenty of nice food! I have been to both Bat Ye Tin 1 & 2 and I couldnt really tell the difference. I thought I was at the same place. Or maybe I really went to the same place twice? I confused myself.
