
I just got this from a relatives who are on the way back home from Kedah yesterday. It was a box of biscuit. OK, I really duno how to name this biscuit in Engrish but in Cantonese it was call Gong Chai Peng or if directly translated into Engrish it would be like figure biscuit. Something like that lah.

Basically it was just a biscuit filled with some grated coconut. You can find this sort of biscuit in the market and biscuit shop.
But somehow, this one was exceptionally tasty. The outer layer of the biscuit was so soft and fragrance. It just takes a couple of bites for each of these biscuit and it was really good.

As you could see, this biscuit was brought over all the way from Sungai Petani, Kedah.
So, if next time you happen to pass through Sg. Petani, maybe you could get a couple of this biscuit.

I agree with Wendy, how come got something inside? I thought it's a plain biscuit?
Wendy & New Kid On the Blog, nowadays, gong chai peng can have all kinds of fillings like red bean paste, pineapple jam, grated coconut, etc. I found non-branded gong chai peng (those sell at market or old shop) taste better than branded one.
I believe there is not many people out there who would consume this biscuit occasionally, probably only once in a long long time.

I agree with celine, gong chai peng nowdays have all sort of fillings already. those without fillings one was the 1st generation of authentic biscuit (old biscuit) lol

just yesterday, one of my friend could simply recognize the biscuit just by looking at it. She ask me if it was the famous gong chai peng from kedah?
