Lantern Festival at Kuan Yin Temple Ipoh

Its the first time ever such lantern Festival been held at Ipoh and I grab this opportunity to shoot some photos there.

At first, I know about this event by the banners by the roadside somewhere in Ipoh but I couldn't conclude where exactly the location is. I don't really know where is this Kuan Yin Temple was! Somehow, it was that evening as we done with our reunion dinner at Wong Kok Restaurant, we decided to go pay a visit there. Well, my dad know where it was so there isn't any trouble to locate the place.

beautiful lanterns

The events is held in the middle of the dark by the roadside not far away from The Lost World of Tambun near Sunway City, Ipoh. As we passed by the main road from Tambun, we can clearly see the colourful lanterns decorating the area. Well, this place was kind of isolated and I'm sure not many people really know how to get here. Sumore, there isn't any signboard which point to this location.

rainy evening

It have been raining in the evening and the place was wet, everywhere. When you have to walk around with water patches all over the place and muds and so on, thats irritating.

lantern festival ipoh

Perhaps I didn't came here on the right time. It was Chinese New Year eve where everyone having reunion dinner with family thus this place was kind of quiet that evening. Somehow, I was so impressed with all those lanterns stuff there have there. It was such beautiful though it was a little on a small scale expo but hey, something got to start somewhere isn't?
I do hope that this Lantern Festival could turn out to be an annual event and keep improving. Ipoh does need events like these to grow.

Visited this lantern festivsal too because I got two free tickets! (2nd day of CNY)

I was slightly disappointed because this place is rather empty. Seriouly needs more lanterns of all shapes, sizes, and themes.

I was told that the place would have many stalls selling all sorts of souvenirs, which was not the case.
