We had our great time at the Water World at A Farmosa Resort and we drove all the way to the Melaka city to get a glimpse of how the city looks like now. Many things has changed ever since my last visit to this historical state. Although Melaka is just a small state but the development is far greater than of the state where I was born.
One of it was the Solar Energy harvesting plant, a multi billion project in the move to advance to a sustainable energy source. And then the largest Jusco shopping mall in the country resided in this city too.
We had dinner at a food court in the city. Satay celup is among the famous food in Melaka and we did pass by the infamous Oriental satay celup restaurant but was shocked to see a long queue of patrons in front of the restaurant. So it is better off to had our dinner at a food court instead, no need to wait so long.
After our dinner walked through part of the Melaka River for its magnificent night view. Also dubbed as the ‘Venice of the East’ the local government has seriously taken up the effort to turn this river into a world class tourist destination.
The night view along the river is just marvelous when all the lightings lit up.
Some of the traditional styled houses we lit up in the night to take tourist back to the old time of Melaka.
Although you could take a walk along the riverside but one should never miss the river cruise especially at night. We’ve arrived here at the jetty waiting to board the ferry for the cruise. Well, the Venice of the East doesn’t use Gondola though.
The 9.5 kilometer cruise was like a time machine bringing us back to the old time of Melaka. Here are some of the old houses of Melaka. Some of the actual old houses were kept intact and in the old days, such building was constructed without the use of a single nail.
We passed through several bridges along the cruise and this is the Hang Tuah Bridge. A very colorful bridge.
As the cruise goes further we were witness modernization where new buildings occupies the riverside.

A replica of an ancient Portuguese merchant ship which happen to be a museum.
Shops, café and restaurant resided part of the riverside in the Melaka city.
We are all mesmerized with be beauty of the Melaka river cruise that night. It was more than meet the eyes to be taken back to time and cruise back into the present stage of Melaka in the hour long cruise.
