Gosh, it was such a long holiday over the past festive season and the holiday has come to an end. I suppose most people out there has already started going work while I was still lying here duno doing what.
Anyway, just would like to recap back some of the activities during the last Chinese New Year festival. Firstly, it was the reunion dinner.This year we choose the Sun Lee how Fook Restaurant at Jalan Kampar, Ipoh. Over the couple of wedding dinner I have been there, I find that their food were quite nice so we would like to give ot a try for the dinner.
While having wedding dinner at restaurant like this might takes up to 3 hours to finish, things turn out to be completely different during this reunion dinner. The restaurant run 2 session for the reunion dinner, each started at 6pm and 8pm. So, basically you would have less than 1.5 hours to finish up the dinner.
Each dishes were serve so fast that you couldn't digest it in time. It was kind of irritating you know having time limit to enjoy a dinner with family.
Of course they're not telling you to eat fast and move on but from they way they serve the table and all those hidden hints behind their eyes, I obviously get the message clearly.
To be honest, they way they serve the customers that day was terrifying. Not to mention about the food which is cutting throat in price and taste lousy.

Yee Sang, the symbol of prosperity. Well I certainly wish it could really boost my prosperity. Or at least boost me some traffic to my blog la! lol

Fried chicken with duno what so special sauce. Up until now, I still couldn't figure out what sauce it was.

Yum Yum, steamed pomfret fish. I always like this one for sure.

Braised mushroom with some Fatt Choy and veggies.

Some sort of chicken soup with dried mushroom and sea cucumber which turn out to be undelicious.

Some sinful prawn on the pot.

Some regular fried rice.

And lastly, dessert.
So, thats it. Next year, no more fancy restaurant for such dinner!

Nice to be back, Ipoh Chai.Yes, nothing interesting when you look at the dishes. Normally, these restaurants would prepare their dishes in advance anticipating the crowd and in bulk to ensure speed thus compromising on the quality and taste. The lesson to learn - prepare and eat at home. That's reunion!
