Tesco Makro and a dinner at Bercham

I just went to the new Tesco Extra which opened their business couple of weeks ago. This building used to be Makro but eventually it closed down already before taken over by Tesco. Well, there certainly are a few disadvantages of Makro which drives peoples away from it.

Firstly, you need a member card but eventually people just need to register at the entrance counter for a piece of paper in order to purchase thing. I don't know why they still stick with such inconvenience policy when more and more freely open hypermarket competing with it. Honestly I don't like it.
Initially when Makro open their business, it is compulsory to have a member card to enter and buy things there, it was that LanSi, so now they pay the price.

Makro was the very first large scale hypermarket in Ipoh but many of it's items are sold in bundle. Normal consumer like you and me don't really buy everything in bundle right. Even the price was not entirely cheaper.

So, no more Makro as for now. But surprisingly, the new Tesco Extra is just located less then 1 km away from the existing Tesco! Probably that's the reason they call it with an 'Extra'.
So, we have Tesco vs Tesco Extra within the same area. I really don't know what's their strategy but it seem to me they just divide down the market share while sustain another huge cost in running the new store. I'm not sure if both Tesco pricing was exactly the same but both delivers their own promotion phamplets.

After some groceries shopping, I took a dinner at the Emas Food Center at Bercham. Let's get on with the dishes here.

Tit Pan Tofu a.k.a Sizzling Tofu.
This hot sizzling tofu with some minced meat, mushroom and egg taste really good. I love tofu and this marvelous sizzling tofu just open up my appetite.

Kung Po Mantis Shrimp meat
The mantis shrimp meat is deep fried before frying it with dry chilli, onions, spring onions and sauce. Then mantis shrimp meat were still crispy as they serve it. Yumm...

Fried egg plant with minced pork
Taste pretty nice and delicious.

The 3 dishes sum up to RM27.40. Not entirely cheap and worth it considering it all taste delicious.
