Weekend to Bukit Tinggi

Featuring the stories of Japanese Garden at Bukit Tinggi.

I've spent my last weekend for a short holiday to Bukit Tinggi and KL together with my lovely wife. It's been a few years since the first visit to Bukit Tinggi and since my wife has never been there before so I took this opportunity to re visit the highlands again.

The journey starts as early as 6.00am and we took a short break for breakfast at Tapah R n R. The sky started to turn bright quite early.

morning at Tapah R n R
Much has changed at the Tapah R n R. The toilet has moved to the other end of the building, those who park their vehicle near the food court will have to take a long walk to reach there.
If you have Urgent matters to settle, you may probably blown up before you reach there.

Twin Tower Replica
I found this replica of the Petronas Twin Tower at the Tapah R n R. But what is that Atap house doing next to it?

fruit stall
There is a lot of fruit stall at this place and the most famous fruit of all is the Guava (Jambu Batu). The seedless guava is nice here. It seems that the best quality fruits is sell here rather than in the market in Ipoh.

tapah R n R have wifi
FREE WIFI ! yeah, Tapah R n R provide free wireless broadband connection all day long.

Right after the short break at the Tapah R n R, the journey continues towards Tanjung Malim. It takes another 1 hour to reach the Tanjung Malim exit and I'm driving towards Batang Kali and turn to Genting Highlands uphill road before I turn to the Karak highway.

hazy road at genting highlands
The road from Genting towards Karak highway was kind of foggy. Driving on the downhill in a foggy condition was dangerous as soometimes the view is very limited. You may only not see the car in front even it was only 10 meters away. Well I could see lots of KL'ers driving like Schumi and trying to take corners like AE86. And they don't even bother to switch on the head lights. Hmm.. so thrilling huh !

The Bukit Tinggi junction was not far once I reach Karak highway. The uphill to Bukit Tinggi was very quiet that you could sleep on the road.

Greens surrounding along the route to Bukit Tinggi. It was a very relaxing drive.
Well, there is a toll booth before I reach the Bukit Tinggi Resort. The entrance fee for each adults cost RM 16.00.

japanese garden
Japanese Village. I don't seems to find any Japanese people in the village though and the Botanical Garden doesn't seems anything impressive. I think any botanical garden at Cameron Highlands could beat the hell out of this one.
welcome
It says "Welcome to the world's first Japanese Tea House in the Tropical Forest"
Of course you won't even find a Japanese Tea House in the middle of a rainforest even in Japan. Who want to go Yam Cha in the middle of a jungle?

plants and pond
sushi restaurant
There is this Sushi Restaurant in the Botanical Garden.

flowers
wierd ferns at japanese garden
koi ponds
Koi pond.
lizard
Hmm.. a wierd looking Gecko at the ceiling, could be a good pets though.
japanese garden view
A nice scenery at the Japanese Garden.

The Japanese Tea House.

Overall, the Japanese Garden is a very nice place to visit. From what I read from their Website. They bring in a team of 22 craftmen from Japan to design and built this garden. Though I never been to Japan before but somehow I could get a picture of how a traditional Japanese village tends to be.

It only takes a couple of hours to complete the Japanese Garden tour. The next stop would be the Colmar Tropicale or also known as the French Village just a short drive from the Japanese Garden.
