Wierd Fruit from outer space?

Just yesterday night, my mom was back from Cameron Highlands. My sister and brother-in-law was going to Singapore to collect some payment and guess what. My mom gave me this wierd looking fruit in which she call it Masusu!

Look at it, does anyone ever came across this fruit before? Don't know if this fruit come from Mars or somewhere in the outer space. I couldn't find the exact name of this fruit yet till now.

According to my mom, this fruit is originated from other country, Holland maybe, didn't remember well cos I'm too curious about this thing. It was my brother-in-law's brother (how do ya call that?) who plant this fruit in his farm. Well, not for commercial though, just for the sake of curiosity.

Yeah, you sure must be wondering what does it looks like inside this fruit.

As I cut open the fruit, it has lots of tiny little seed covered with a layer of soft jelly. There is some juice in the fruit as well. It taste sweet along with a bit of sour, quite similar with the taste of pamelo.
The jelly like layer covering the seed taste a bit sour but it is not too bad though.

The internal of fruit was like our buah delima (pomegranate) except this one is more juicier and sweeter. While this fruit isn't something I could bit eand crunch it in my mouth, but it is enjoyable sucking the juice from those tiny little seed inside the fruit.

If anyone out there know whats the name of this fruit, do let me know.
